Useful information about Batumi and Georgia
If you want to see Batumi from above, then use the cable car. This attraction is the most striking highlight of the capital of the Black Sea coast. The Argo cable car is considered one of the longest in Europe. The road is always open, regardless of the season, because even in winter, guests of Georgia want to enjoy the incredible panorama of the sea city.
The peculiarity of the cable car is that, unlike other roads, it is quite flat. During a short trip, it seems as if you are floating, but not rising up. From the cabin you can see the mountains of Adjara, which are visible through a light smoky veil. From a height you can see how the slopes are strewn with Georgian cozy houses and small adjacent gardens. Approaching the destination, in front of the gaze opens a majestic port along with the endless Black Sea.
The length of the cable car is more than two and a half kilometers. There are nine glass cabins on the cable car, which are equipped with a modern twist. Traveling from one point to another takes about ten minutes. In each booth there are special windows that can be opened in order to take stunning pictures. Transparent booths can accommodate about six people. Inside on both sides are comfortable soft seats. Doors in the booth work automatically.
You can ride at any time, because the cable car works without days off and breaks. However, the best shots can be captured only before lunch, because after lunch the sun will fall into the lens. If you want to enjoy the extraordinary panorama of the endless Batumi, then go to the cable car in the evening. Some recommend a trip in the late afternoon, as the city begins to sparkle with evening lights in the evening.
The upper cable car station is located on Mount Feria. It is beautifully equipped with a special viewing platform. This area is quite large. It housed a small temple, a cafe with shops and a panoramic one with special stationary binoculars. The site offers a fantastic view of the city. The lower station is located near the Batumi port, right on the seashore.
