Useful information about Batumi and Georgia

Love statue

Once between a Azerbaijani boy Ali and a Georgian girl Nino, real love broke out. The love between a Muslim guy and a Christian girl was not easy, as they clashed two completely different cultures. However, love was so strong that it knew no barriers. The lovers went through many trials before being together. Overcoming all difficulties, Ali and Nino got married, proving that love is immortal.

Their love is still alive, we can contemplate it in the form of two statues located on the embankment of Batumi. Two seven-meter metal figures in the image of a man and a woman do not stop their movement, day or night. These sculptures are notable for the fact that in ten minutes they show the whole story of their infinite love. At night, thanks to the backlight, these movements are like a dance of love.

The statues slowly move towards, until they merge into a single whole. And then they disconnect again, continuing their journey in complete solitude, to meet again and reunite. The mobile installation embodies the idea of the eternal cycle of relations: the magnetic attraction of lovers and their unity despite life's test.

The statue of love, like the heroes of the written novel, thanks to which the sculpture appeared, has its own personal story. The author of this amazing composition is the talented architect Tamara Kvesitadze. Inspired by the novel & laquo; Ali and Nino & raquo ;, she embodied a love story in her brainchild.

The author worked on an architectural masterpiece for two years. The finished statue was first presented at the famous Venetian Biennale, then the sculpture showed itself at an art exhibition in London, where it caused an extraordinary sensation. After world recognition, the statue was installed on the shore of the Georgian city of Batumi.

Having successfully withstood several disasters and elements, the statue was moved to a safer corner. Now she is in Wonderland Park next to other buildings. The sculptures are made of metal grating and resemble the structure of the blinds. Thanks to this design, they can enter each other, merging in a passionate kiss.

The figures look simply gigantic due to the high platform on which they are mounted. Visually, such a solution creates a sense of the scale of the installation. In the evening, the composition is effectively highlighted, which adds romance to the sculpture. After sunset, colored neon lights flash and creates amazing variations of highlights and shadows on the composition. And at dawn, the figures look translucent, merging with the background of a clear sky.

There are always a lot of people near the sculptures in love. They take pictures here, admire the twinkling of stars to the sound of the sea wave, make dates ... And the eternal symbol of love between a man and a woman continues its elegant endless path that lasts forever ...
