Useful information about Batumi and Georgia
Batumi Alphabet Tower
One of the new tourist attractions of the city of Batumi Alphabet Tower. It is located in the famous Miracle Park on the city promenade and looks very unusual.
Tower structure
The structure was built relatively recently in 2012. It is a pillar 130 m high and 31 m in diameter, entwined with two metal ribbons in the form of a DNA molecule. The most remarkable thing is that the letters of the Georgian alphabet are depicted on these tapes. They are made of aluminum. The height of each letter 4 m. There are 33 elements in the Georgian alphabet. Thanks to this, the tower got its name. & Nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp; & nbsp;
Such a design appeared by chance. The DNA spiral symbolizes vital genes combined into a single organism, and the Georgian alphabet denotes the unity and cohesion of the people of Georgia. The creator of the project was a talented architect from Spain Alberto Domingo Cabo.
Internal organization
The top of the structure is decorated with a spherical dome. Inside it is an observation deck for tourists. In addition to its artistic value, the tower also has practical significance: it is used by a local television company. The television studio is also located in the upper part of the building.
The dome consists of three floors. An elevator is used to climb up. On the ground floor there is another elevator, designed to rise to the next levels. The second floor is the main one: there is a cozy coffee shop where you can relax, a small shop selling souvenirs, as well as an exposition with photographs of the city. Third floor the smallest. You can climb it by stairs. There is nothing remarkable here, except for a special counterweight pendulum that holds the tower in a stable position on the windy sea coast.
On a rotating observation deck is a Georgian restaurant. There, visitors can grab a bite to eat while enjoying beautiful views. In the evenings, the tower, illuminated by bright lights, looks especially beautiful.
Alphabet Tower one of the main symbols of Batumi, which symbolizes the genetic code of the Georgian nation and expresses the love of the people for their writing. & nbsp;
