The Secret of Ujiro Thba
Georgia is a very mysterious country, it breathes secrets in almost every corner of it. The nature of the Caucasus sometimes defies description, especially when it comes to something inexplicable. One such mysterious attraction is Lake Ujiro Tba.
The lake has another name - the bottomless, so named because sometimes it seems as if it has no bottom. The reservoir is located in the mountainous region of Racha, on the western ridge of Mount Katitsvera. Alpine lake is located at a height of three thousand, surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains.
Ujiro is of volcanic origin, the Katitsvera glaciers feed the waters of the lake. It is filled with crystal clear water, which, like a mirror, reflects the snow-white peaks of the mountains. The blue expanse of the reservoir always looks frozen, there are practically no ripples or splashes on it. And when you start peering deep into where the bottom should be, you feel its bottomless infinity.
You can get to Ujiro Tba along the route starting from the village of Shovi. This path is for those who do not like beaten paths and are not afraid of difficult routes. It will take two days to go to the reservoir, since it will take some time to adapt to the mountain air.
Walking along steep mountain paths, crossing over passes and going down again, you finally find yourself near a mysterious lake. Fresh and clean air, meadows decorated with flowers turn this area into something delightful and beautiful. But most of all attracts the mirror surface of Ujiro Tba, which hides its bottomless secret somewhere inside itself, under the cover of a crystal surface.
